  • KL Rahul has flummoxed everyone with his technical prowess and impressive artillery

Before the BGT series, India squared off against New Zealand in a three-match Test series on home soil. In the series opener, Rahul got out while tickling the delivery that went towards the leg side. In the second, he got out on a peach of a delivery and then witnessed Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan boss the Kiwis with their flamboyant approach. Eventually, India collapsed and lost the opening Test. Rahul didn’t play in the next two Tests as India fell to a historic 3-0 series whitewash.

“I think that was sort of the inception [of our relationship]. Australia was going to be critical for him because it was almost like, what if you didn’t get runs there, then where is his career going? Because he was out of the T20 [squad]. Then this could also very well have been his last series,” Nayar said.

“I told him, listen, we’ve got 15 days to prepare before we go to Australia, and take those ten days there, we have got almost month to prepare – what do you want to do? How do you want to approach this? What is your mindset?” he continued.

“He spoke about what he’s been doing and what worked for him in the past. And then I had a certain thought process, which was very different from his. Over hours and hours of conversation and trying to make him understand where I came from, eventually, I got him to a place where he sort of trusted me to do certain things with him in regards to how he practises, in regards to trusting certain changes in his tactics, in regards to his stance, where he stands in the crease, what guard he takes,” Nayar added.

Nayar didn’t give out the secret sauce and the tweaks he made that allowed Rahul to thrive but gave a sneak peek into the approach that he adopted and said, “All I can tell you is, the way I’ve always tried to handle things is to first try and address the skill, and then use skill as a medium to address the mind. That’s as much as I can tell you in terms of details.”

“It’s about using practice to give his mind reassurance with the plan that we have, and what he needs to do to execute it. And then adding a lot of tactical nuances to that so that it gives him a slight edge when he’s batting. So his focus is totally on following and executing those tactical adjustments and nuances rather than focusing on the result of it,” Nayar added.

  • Rohit Sharma Entrusted This Man To Bring ‘Aggressive Outlook’ In KL Rahul – New Revelation

Former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar revealed that ODI captain Rohit Sharma wanted him to work with KL Rahul and bring out a more “aggressive” outlook as well as the best out of him. Rahul has flummoxed everyone with his technical prowess and impressive artillery. The most recent reminder that Rahul delivered was in the second innings of the opening Test against England at Headingley. Rahul dazzled on the crease with a composed 137 from 247 deliveries, a knock that was a sight for sore eyes. Nayar, who was named in head coach Gautam Gambhir‘s initial regime, reminisced about the time when former Test captain Rohit asked him to work with Rahul, as the ‘Hitman’ had a strong belief in the 33-year-old’s capability to play a significant role in India. When I first picked up that role, I remember I had a conversation with Rohit, and he said that one of the things he was really keen on me doing was working with KL and bringing out a more aggressive outlook to how KL played the game, and bringing the best out of him. Because he believed strongly that KL would play a major role in the Champions Trophy, World Cup and everything going forward, including the BGT [Border-Gavaskar Trophy] and the Tests in England,” Nayar, who was removed from the position after a BCCI review following the 3-1 series loss in Australia, told ESPNcricinfo.

  • Kussh S Sinha On ‘Sibling Rivalry’ Impacting Sonakshi Sinha’s Nikita Roy: “On Set I Was Clear She Is An Actor”

    New Delhi:

Kussh S Sinha is all set to mark his directorial debut with Nikita Roy, led by his sister, actor Sonakshi Sinha. During the promotions, Kussh S Sinha spoke about his bond with Sonakshi Sinha. He also made a statement regarding their alleged ‘sibling rivalry’ impacting the process of filmmaking.

    What’s Happening

    • Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up for the release of Nikita Roy, the film is helmed by debut director and her brother Kussh S Sinha.
    • Kussh S Sinha told Hindustan Times, “On set, I was very clear that she is an actor – and that to someone who has done multiple films, toh unka anubhav bhi hai (so she has the experience). So I had to keep that in mind and give her the respect as an actor. And I do it with everybody – mere rishtedaar ho ya naa ho (whether they are my relatives or not). We all know actors don’t have a shortage of work. They are being offered scripts every week, so anybody who chooses to be a part of your film – you should treat them with respect.”
    • Pressing on how it was essential to cast an actress who is right for the titular role in the film, Kussh S Sinha added, “The script came to me first, but you tell me – if you know Sonakshi Sinha and you know how good an actor she is, wouldn’t you cast her? I knew she was my sister and it was easy, but it was important to cast someone who was right for the role, and I think Sonakshi has done an amazing job portraying Nikita Roy. Even as a woman, you’ll be happy to see that there’s no mansplaining going on with the female character, and she is holding her own completely – not just subscribing to gender stereotypes. I think Sonakshi did justice to all these aspects
  • Senior IPS Officer Parag Jain, Who Played Key Role In Op Sindoor, To Head RAW

Senior IPS officer Parag Jain, credited with key intelligence operations during Operation Sindoor, has been appointed as the new head of the country’s external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), sources have told NDTV.

After a deadly attack on tourists in picturesque Pahalagam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, New Delhi launched strikes deep into Pakistan’s territory as part of what it named Operation Sindoor. India blamed Pakistan for backing the attackers who killed 26 civilians. Islamabad denied it and called for an independent probe. A ceasefire was reached on May 10 after four days of fighting.

He will serve a two-year tenure after taking over from Mr Sinha, who retires on June 30, the officials said.

A 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Punjab cadre, brings over two decades of experience within RAW to his new role.

His career includes significant operational contributions during the height of terrorism in Punjab, where he served as SSP and Deputy Inspector General of Police in various districts.

  • “If Elon Chilled Out…”: JD Vance On Elon Musk-Donald Trump FeudHarvard Is Starting To Behave’: Donald Trump On Student Visa Row

Elon Musk is making a “huge mistake” by targeting the President of the United States, JD Vance has said. Referring to Musk’s recent barrage of angry posts aimed at Donald Trump, the Vice President described the billionaire as an “emotional guy” who lost his cool.

“I actually think if Elon chilled out a little bit, everything would be fine,” he said in an interview released Friday, addressing the very public breakdown between Trump and Musk — once close allies.

“I think it’s a huge mistake for him to go after the President like that. It’s going to be bad for the country and I don’t think it’s going to be good for Elon either. I hope that eventually Elon comes back into the fold. Maybe that’s not possible now because he’s gone so nuclear,” he added.

Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, unleashed a storm of social media posts attacking Trump, criticising his tax and spending bill, suggesting impeachment, and even alleging that the government was covering up Trump’s ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In response, Trump called Musk “crazy” and threatened to cancel his federal contracts. Musk, in turn, said he’d pull back NASA’s Dragon spacecraft.

“It happens to everybody,” JD Vance said about the outburst. “I’ve flown off the handle way worse than Elon Musk did in the last 24 hours.”

The vice president made the remarks during an interview with comedian Theo Von, known for provocative jokes and his recent appearance opening for Trump at a military base in Qatar. The interview was taped Thursday, as Musk’s posts were going viral on X, the social platform he owns.

  • Air Force To Get Rs 10,000 Crore Indigenous I-STAR Spy Planes

Amid the ongoing Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, the Defence Ministry is going to take up Rs 10,000 crore proposal to buy three sophisticated spy planes to help Indian Air Force get a clear air-to-ground picture to carry out precision strikes against enemy ground targets like radar stations, air defence units and other mobile objects.

The Rs 10,000 crore project for the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (I-STAR) is expected to be taken up for clearance at a high-level defence ministry meeting scheduled to be held in the fourth week of June, defence officials told ANI.

The ISTAR provides air-to-ground surveillance to the forces to help them in carrying out precision strikes.

The spy aircraft project being developed by the Defence Research and Development includes the acquisition of three aircraft through an open tender from foreign manufacturers, including Boeing and Bombardier.

The onboard systems on the aircraft would be completely indigenous, as the DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems has already successfully developed them, they said.

The systems have already been proven and developed by the CABS and they will just have to be integrated with the three aircraft which would be acquired and modified for the purpose, they said.

The development of an ISTAR system would also add India to a select club of nations with such a capability, including the US, UK, Israel and a few others.

ISTAR thus provides dynamic and time-sensitive targeting capability and contributes significantly to meeting the nation’s security goals.

It will aid in limiting the scale and complexity of undetected hostile threats. It has multi-spectral surveillance capability to detect, locate and monitor irregular forces.

The I-STAR system shall be for carrying out intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting by day and night from stand-off ranges.

The ISTAR systems are operated at high altitudes from large stand-off ranges and will be used for intelligence processing, exploitation, dissemination and generation of the common operating picture.

The ISTAR aircraft will be a system comprising airborne and ground segments.
